Iraq to Spend US$50bln for Development of Nation’s Airports

The growing markets of China, Russia, India, the Middle East, and Africa are among the growth leaders in airport infrastructure development spending over the next few years. To understand and progress in these markets, businesses and investors need adequate local knowledge and depth.

 

On 11 -12 December 2011, the Emerging Markets Airport Suppliers Conference (EMASC 2011) will feature some of the experts from growing markets, who will display the major airport projects under construction and expansion in these markets.

 

One such speaker at this year’s conference will be H.E. Kifah Hasan Jabbar, Director General, Iraq Civil Aviation Authority and Iraqi airways , who will putforth the huge programme related to the expansion of the Iraq’s national carrier as well as the nation’s airport facilities. It is notified that US$50 billion have been set aside on airport development projects in Iraq over the next few years. Likewise, Iraqi airways is scheduled to add new 55 Boeing and Bombardier aircrafts in to its fleet soon.

 

Following the Director General’s presentation, Abdulmunaim M. Ismail and Ghaml Darweesh Al Isuozah, special advisors to H.E. Benkin Regane – Iraq’s Deputy Minister for Technical Affairs with Ministry of Transport (MoT), will make a presentation on Iraqi government’s plan to spend US$150bn for the infrastructure programme related to airports, sea ports and railways.
