BAE wins five year multi-million pound Jetspares contract
BAE has won a major JetSpares contract from Swiss International Airlines, the national carrier of Switzerland, covering its fleet of 20 Avro RJ100 regional jetliners. This multi-million pound contract will last a minimum of five years, and continue thereafter until the last aircraft ceases revenue flying with the airline, as new-generation replacement aircraft are delivered.
The RJ100s form the backbone of the airline’s shorter-haul regional services across Europe, including the intensive schedule to London City Airport which it serves from Geneva and Zurich. Working alongside a fleet of Airbus A320 family aircraft, the airline serves over 60 European destinations.
The JetSpares customised rotable spares support rate-per-flying-hour agreement has been won against stiff competition from other providers. It is the first time that Swiss has selected BAE Systems Regional Aircraft to provide its JetSpares product. The deal for the entire RJ100 fleet covers over 450 separate components.
