Rolls-Royce and Innova Helicopters, Inc., a subsidiary of Innova Aerospace, have reached agreement to launch a technical development program to certify the RR300 turbo-shaft engine for the Innova Helicopters C630.

The three-year engineering support agreement will provide Rolls-Royce technical installation support to complement Innova Helicopter’s C630 certification program. Both Rolls-Royce and Innova Helicopters have already installed an RR300 engine into the C630 airframe and work continues on plan.

Jason Propes, Rolls-Royce, Senior Vice President Helicopters and Light Turboprop Engines, said, “The RR300 engine, with its combination of power and fuel economy, makes it perfectly matched for Innova Helicopters C630. The innovation and engineering expertise ofRolls-Royce will ensure success in adaptation of the RR300 into the new helicopter application.”

Greg Fedele, Innova Aerospace, Executive Vice President of Corporate Development, said, “When choosing an engine for the C630, we wanted a partner that was as innovative as our company. We found that innovation with the team from Rolls-Royce. We continue to build a world-class production and engineering team in New Zealand as we advance our certification program. The C630, with EvoStrength technology, continues to redefine the safety and capability of light helicopters.”

The affordable RR300 has been designed for reliable turbine-powered flight for a new generation of aircraft.  Specifically designed for light helicopters, the engine is optimized for performance in the 240–300 shaft horsepower range. It has true multi-fuel capability and turbine engine responsiveness, smoothness and worry-free reliability. The global RR300 FIRST network is designed to deliver local engine repair and overhaul suppor
