Jet Aviation’s maintenance center in Vienna gains FAA Repair Station approval

By Editor 10-Apr-2017

Jet Aviation’s maintenance facility in Vienna has recently received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to provide line and base maintenance to N-registered aircraft. Close to 500 N-registered aircraft are currently based or operating in EMEA and Asia.

With this approval, Jet Aviation’s maintenance facility in Vienna is authorized to provide line and base maintenance services to all N-registered aircraft for which it is approved to support.

“As a support spoke to Jet Aviation’s major Maintenance and Completions Center in Basel, our facility in Vienna provides much-needed maintenance support to aircraft owners and operators in Eastern Europe, where approximately 10 percent of all N-registered aircraft in EMEA and Asia are based or operating,” says Hakan Tin, managing director of Jet Aviation’s MRO and FBO facility in Vienna. “Vienna is a popular destination for business aviation aircraft and these additional service capabilities offer significant benefit to all N-registered owners and operators that travel in the region."

Jet Aviation Vienna was founded in September 2014 when Jet Aviation entered agreements with GATE V and FAME, the previous MRO and FBO service providers at Vienna International airport. From a newly constructed 4,000 square meter hangar facility, the company operates a Cessna Authorized Service Center that provides scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to Cessna Citation aircraft, in addition to off-site AOG services. Jet Aviation Vienna also supports line and base maintenance and AOG services for Bombardier Challenger 300/350 aircraft, as well as line maintenance for Bombardier Learjet; Challenger 604/605/650; Global 5000/6000, Global Express and Global Express XRS series aircraft; and the Gulfstream GV-SP series. The MRO facility has 2,000 square meters of shops and office space. FBO amenities include an operations office, a crew lounge and access to a VIP passenger lounge.
